Mike Smith Vice President
Mike has over 40 years of experience in various industries focusing on customer service, technology, field service and operations leadership. He has been on the Board starting in 2025. Mike and his wife Vicki retired in 2026 and have lived in the association since 2024. They have two children and three grandchildren. During their life together, they have lived in numerous cities, including Newton, Iowa and many different homes or condos across the South & Midwest.
Michael Kruse Treasurer
Michael and his wife, Laura, moved to Gemstone Estates in May 2025 following his retirement as IT Director of Global Operations at Campbell Soup Company. They have three grown children. He now serves on the COA Board, contributing his expertise in information technology, leadership, and financial management. They enjoy traveling and value the Marion area’s convenient access to CID Airport and its vibrant arts and entertainment offerings. Michael is also affiliated with Skogman Realty as a licensed real estate agent.
Lonnie Henderson Secretary
Lonnie is a life-long Iowan, a graduate of Kirkwood, Coe College, and the University of Iowa. Her work experience includes broadcasting, financial services, and compliance. She and her husband, Jim, moved into Gemstone Estates in 2017. They have two daughters and a Puggle named Mike.
